Is your company thinking of shifting from traditional End-of-Service Benefits (EOSB) gratuity to a structured savings scheme?

If you’re unsure, you’re not alone.

For those who are new to the topic

The UAE EOSB Savings Scheme was introduced by Cabinet Resolution 96 of 2023. To date, there are four approved fund managers with more expected to come. Whilst the new EOSB Savings Scheme is currently voluntary, it is expected to become compulsory in due course, fully replacing the current EOSB Gratuity mechanism.

We’ve heard your questions

Over the past year, we’ve heard from dozens of HR teams, finance and business heads across the UAE, all asking the same questions: Is the new savings scheme better than traditional gratuity? When will it become compulsory? What about companies in freezones? Will employees appreciate the new scheme? How can we get senior management on board?

The truth is, the UAE’s EOSB system is in transition. Most companies are aware of the new scheme, but not all understand how it works or what to do next.
